American Heart Association, Athens Regional Medical Center, Elbert Memorial Hospital, Madison County EMS, Elbert County EMS, National EMS and a growing number of other EMS providers are joining together to tell you about Mission: Lifeline.
For many reasons, victims of the most serious kind of heart attack don't get the right medical care soon enough.
They may not recognize the symptoms of a heart attack.
They may decide to drive themselves to the hospital instead of calling an ambulance.
Or, they may be transported to a hospital that is not equipped to provide the procedures most likely to save their lives.
The goal of "Mission: Lifeline" is to make sure heart attack victims take the following life-saving steps:
Recognize the symptoms of a heart attack early.
Call 911 right away so that emergency care is coming to them.
Get to a hospital that can provide the kind of specialized care they need.
Together we can spread the word about "Mission: Lifeline."
We are able to give a short talk (10-20 minutes) to a variety of community groups. No charge, of course!
