A neonatologist (a doctor who specializes in the care of infants) is on call 24-hours a day, and our experienced nurses are at every Caesarean delivery and any birth with complications.

Of the 2,500 annual deliveries at Athens Regional, 10 percent are premature babies, requiring extra attention and medical treatment. An exceptional RN staff provides around-the-clock intensive nursing care to these babies.
