In 1985, a group of community volunteers met with the administration of Athens Regional Medical Center to discuss community support for programs and equipment beyond the financial scope of the medical center. The development program of ARMC was thus established.

The mission of the Athens Regional Foundation is to provide a link between Athens Regional Medical Center and the people of our community.

The Foundation has a four-fold purpose:

• Generating funds to maintain and expand the availability of services.
• Involving and educating citizens.
• Providing a forum for increased dialogue between community, business leaders and ARMC.
• Identifying community health education and service needs and implementing programs to meet those needs.

We are committed to providing community involvement, worthwhile seminars on health care topics, meaningful projects for our volunteers and prompt response to questions about the hospital while seeking philanthropic support for projects to complement the mission of Athens Regional Medical Center. 

We also will provide to our donors confidentiality and appropriate recognition for their contributions. We pledge to maintain an atmosphere of sincerity and cordiality to our volunteers, prospects and donors. We will follow these principles knowing that our department serves as liaison to the community to benefit Athens Regional Medical Center.
